Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam_Sami (JUI-S) chief Samiul Haq blasted at the Government negotiating committee on Taliban talks in a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The head of team proposed by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) for talks with government, lashed out at government’s dialogue committee and blamed it for demonstrating non-serious attitude.

“They are showing non-seriousness and disassociation from the day first, the government is not realising gravity of the issue, but still we are ready to sit together and facilitate the talks,” said Sami.

Sami said he didn’t meet PM or any government for 14 years, but sacrificed everything in order to save the country from a major conflict.

He claimed that several forces didn’t want peace in the country, and were exerting pressure on the peace process.

He warns government on interfering Taliban committee’s matters and accused that the Government is likely to shun dialogue process and drag the country in war.

Sami also urged TTP not to loose patience.

In quick response to Sami’s press conference, Government’s appointed committee member and special assistant to the prime minister on national affairs Irfan Siddiqui said, the Government committee is willing and ready to meet Sami today. He said the government committee has not denied peace talks, but seeks clarification from TTP on certain matters.
