Police have received the orders of the special court (SC) hearing the treason case against the former military ruler Pervez Musharraf to arrest him.
The police Saturday obtained the court’s order that dismissed Musharraf’s plea seeking permission to have medical treatment abroad. The court had also issued an arrest warrant for the former president and directed the authorities to produce him before the court on February 7.
Islamabad Police Inspector General Sikandar Hayat has appointed SP Rural Captain (R) Ilyas as the implementation officer of the said orders. SDPO Rana Tahir and SHO Ghulam Abbas of Shahzad Town Police Station are also included in the team of SP Rural.
Sources said the police will dispatch the court order to Musharraf in one or two days.
The SC had set bail bonds at Rs2.5 million. If Musharraf fails to pay the bonds, he may end up in jail.
