The government’s dialogue-committee’s member major (R) Amir on Saturday contacted religious leaders for their support to make the process successful.
Amir has called on Lal Masjid cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz and discussed the dialogue process; he also sought his assistance in the process.
Abdul Aziz, apologising to be part of the dialogue process with Taliban, said he would pray to God for the success of this process and peace in the country.
Major (R) Amir, however, has negated any news of him approaching Abdul Aziz for the success of peace talks.
Amir also contacted JUI-F chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman and sought help for success of peace process as he has considerable influence over Taliban leaders.
The committee member also asked the Peace Jirga, organised by the JUI-F chief, to play its role in this regard.
The JUI-F spokesman confirmed that Fazalur Rehman is “ready to contribute his role to restore peace in the country”.
Major (R) Amir, however, has negated any news of him approaching Abdul Aziz for the success of peace talks.
