150 assured jobs under ICT Internship Programme

Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) has ensured an employment for around 150 internees in IT and Telecom companies under its National ICT Internship Programme.

The programme, launched last year in collaboration with National ICT Research & Development Fund, PSEB had deployed first batch of 300 IT graduates with 16 years academic degrees in ICT companies who have now successfully completed their internship.

An official at PSEB said on Friday that under the programme, PSEB planned to deploy 800 graduates for a period of four months in phases and it is also paying stipend of Rs 16,000 per month to the ICT interns after completion of their training.

The official said as per plan, 400 IT and Telecom graduates supposed to get training this year, out which 300 have already completed the internship.

The official said that PSEB has already ensured jobs for 150 internees while it is quite hopeful to clinch 150 more jobs for those internees who completed their ICT internship.

About the selection process, the official said the interested ICT companies submit their demand for ICT interns through online portal at www.internship.pseb.org.pk/internship/or through postal mail addressed to Director Projects, PSEB.

He said PSEB, after conducting initial screening of candidates publish the list at its portal. The ICT companies then follow its own criteria to finalize selection of internees.

The objectives of the programme are to meet industry needs for fresh graduates with relevant and latest training in most demanded areas as determined by the industry, give an opportunity to the graduates of the country and make them contributing members of the ICT industry.
