QUETTA-
Three security personnel were killed and four others were wounded when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded near a convoy of the security forces near Jhao area of Balochistan’s Khuzdar district, a private news channel reported on Friday.
According to a Frontier Corps spokesperson, the security convoy was en-route to Bela from Wadh when it was targeted by a remote controlled IED that was planted by the road. Three security men were killed in the attack while four others were wounded.
After the blast, militants hidden in nearby mountains opened fire on the convoy. The troops retaliated with gun fire that continued for hours.
Two of the victims are said to be in a critical condition, the spokesperson added.
