Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has declared elevated expressway for the metro bus service as dangerous air traffic.

According to CAA officials, an extra lane on Chandni Chowk Flyover, for the Metro Bus Service, which is right next to BenazirBhuttoInternationalAirport runway, could pose danger to the incoming flights.

According to CAA sources, neither the Punjab government nor city district government has sought an NOC from the CAA in this connection. According to sources, the CAA has decided to raise objections over the Elevated Expressway.

However, according to RDA sources, an additional lane would be constructed over the flyover but its elevation would not in any way effect the air traffic.

According to the project plan an elevated expressway would be constructed from Rawalpindi Saddar till Shamsabad and an eighth grade road in Islamabad Blue Area for the metro bus.
