Acting IGP requests citizens to cooperate with police

KARACHI – Acting Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Fayyaz Ahmed Laghari has ordered the regional police officers of the province to take extraordinary security measures on Pakistan Day (March 23).
Laghari asked the respective heads of the police to carry out effective snap checking at exit and entry points of major cities of the province, particularly Karachi. He called for extra security arrangements for all functions to be arranged for the Pakistan Day celebrations.
He ordered ensuring that the policemen deployed at various places should not harass or misbehave with the masses on the occasion. He requested the masses to fully cooperate with the police personnel in the increasingly sensitive environment of terrorism in the country.
He said that they should also keep vigil on suspicious activities and report them to the IGP’s control operation room at 021-99873081 and 021-32410900.
