Col. Lalika lauds Dir journalists’ role in restoration of peace

Commandant Dir Scouts, Colonel Nasar Umer Hayat Lalika has said that public support and resolve were prerequisite for maintenance of law and order and peace. Talking to journalists at Timergarah Press Club here on Wednesday, Lalika said public and media support was of prime importance for security forces to single out anti-social elements from society. Lauding the role of Dir people and journalists in supporting government’s efforts for maintenance of peace and purging out militancy, Lalika offered his felicitation and hoped that the people of Dir would continue their support to government and law enforcers for the well being of the nation.

He said the journalists of Dir rendered invaluable services for the restoration peace and always did positive and principled journalism that made possible the elimination of militancy from the area.
Pakistan Army was reconstructing 23 schools damaged at the hands of militants he said and added that the army would also rehabilitate other infrastructure damaged during militancy incidents.
He said prompt actions were taken on reports of grievances of local people for redressal of their problems.
