Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday told Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif that no decision on launching an offensive in North Waziristan will be taken without consensus of all stakeholders.
The COAS had called on the prime minister at the PM House on Tuesday.
Sources said the prime minister exchanged views with the COAS on matters of national security of the country, future course of action over dialogue, Karachi operation, missing persons and other related issues besides military functioning.
The prime minister said that the cancer of terrorism needs to be treated before it eats up our country. He said that no concession will be given to those who challenge the writ of the state and are creating lawlessness in the country.
Nawaz said that unmatched sacrifices of Pakistan Army will not go in vain, sources said.
The army chief also briefed the PM about the border situation and lauded the PM’s initiative on taking all civil and military stake holders on board before making any decision.
The meeting came a day after a majority of the ruling party members during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sharif put their weight in favour of a military action against Taliban terrorists.
Blah, blah, blah, blah …
