Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan has urged the United States to provide market access to Pakistan’s products to promote trade between the two countries.

He was talking to US Ambassador to Pakistan Richard G. Olson who called on him in Islamabad.

He said being an important trade partner‚ the United States should allow the Pakistani exporters to harness the vast potential of US markets and diversify the export basket of Pakistan.

The US Ambassador assured the Minister that in future Pakistan-US relationship would focus more on trade rather than aid.

Olson hoped that the two countries would be able to review bilateral trade investment in the next round of Trade and Investment Framework Agreement Council and develop a long term road map to further strengthen the bilateral trade.
