KARACHI – Birjees Talat Nizami, wife of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) Chancellor ZA Nizami, died in Washington after a protracted illness on Saturday.
She is survived by five sons and two daughters. Mrs Nizami was a famous writer and had published nine books, including ‘Nao Bhanwar Mein’, ‘Kalian’, ‘Phool aur Kantay’, ‘Afkar-e-Birjees’, and ‘Ehsas kay Saaye’. The news of her death came when the SSUET convocation was in progress.
However, the SSUET chancellor remained composed and continued to preside over the proceedings and left after the convocation concluded.
