Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar has denied allegations of being involved with Indian human resources Minister Shashi Tharoor after his wife Sundana Pushkar Tharoor alleged that Tarrar has been stalking her husband and is an Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) agent.
Reacting to the charges by the minister’s wife, Tarrar said that she will be suing Sundana for defamation.
Tarrar said that was not stalking Tharoor.
“How can I stalk him when I live in another country? As far as BBM or Twitter is concerned, you can always delete or block someone,” she said.
Sundana Tahroor had made the comment while talking to a newspaper following Wednesday when inquisitive messages were seen on the Twitter account of her husband that revealed personal exchanges allegedly between Tharoor and Tarar, in which she admitted her love for him and he explained that his wife had discovered his disloyalty.
Later the thrice-married, blue-eyed minister said his account (@shashitharoor) had been hacked but tweets from Sunanda Tharoor’s account stated that she was the one posting from his account.
“Our accounts have not been hacked and I have been sending out these tweets. I cannot tolerate this. This is a Pakistani woman who is an ISI agent, and she is stalking my husband,” she was quoted by an Indian daily.
Meanwhile, Tharoor and his wife issued a joint statement on Thursday that stated unauthorised tweets had been sent from their accounts and the press had distorted Sunanda’s statement.
“We are distressed by the unseemly controversy that has arisen about some unauthorised tweets from our Twitter accounts,” the statement said.
