Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Reform Ahsen Iqbal we must realign ourselves to cope with the challenges posed by the modern era of change and transformation.

Addressing as a Chief Guest at Workshop on Government Performance Management System the Federal Minister highlighted, “The Information Revolution Era is redefining the scope and boundaries of human engagement and performance.  The effectiveness of any country these days is judged on the basis of global instead of national benchmarks.

People are aware of what is happening around them in other parts of the world, which raises their expectation level.  Therefore, we must focus on greater productivity of available resources to meet this growing public demand”.  He added, “It is, however, a hard fact that the performance of our public sector has deteriorated significantly over the years, whereas private sector has developed itself into a robust engine of service delivery”.

Prof. Ahsen Iqbal said, “We must undertake governance re-engineering to establish six links in our public sector to make it responsive to the growing needs of citizens. He said these steps will help overcome gaps in service delivery by increasing the performance capability of the system.
