15 Balochistan districts without electricity after 2 pylons bombed

QUETTA – At least of 15 districts of Balochistan were plunged into darkness after unidentified miscreants blew up two towers of 220 and 132 KV high transmission lines Mach area of Bolan district. The act of sabotage was committed during the wee hours of Saturday, officials said. The spokesman for Quetta Electricity Supply Company (QESCO) Shafqat Ali told this scribe that the unidentified men had planted explosives with the 132-KV and 220 KV double circuit electricity towers of the high transmission lines which detonated, suspending the power supply to 14 districts of Balochistan.
He noted that the engineers and technical teams of QESCO had left for the damaged site; however the repair work would be started after the security clearance. The LEAs have also commenced search operation to arrest the suspect. A case has been registered against unknown accused and investigation into the incident was under way.
