Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid has ruled out any link between Saudi foreign minister’s visit and former president Pervez Musharraf’s case.

Speaking at the launching ceremony of a book titled “Biting the Silver Bullet” in the capital on Tuesday‚ he reiterated that Saudi Arabia was Pakistan’s best friend and will invest in the country’s energy sector.

The minister said that Saudi Arabia has reiterated its determination to play its part for economic progress of Pakistan. He added that Pakistan’s relations with other countries were strengthening as a result of policies adopted by the government.

To a question‚ the information minister said that the matter regarding holding local bodies’ elections was in the court and the government will abide by the decision of the courts.

RASHID BRINGS DOWN KHAN’S RIGGING FEVER: Rashid said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan should concentrate on improving its government’s performance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) instead of criticising Punjab chief minister.

He said that Khan should remember that rigging allegations against his party candidate from Abbottabad had been proved correct.

The minister said that Khan, who was making hue and cry about NRO 3 about Musharraf, had been a supporter of the same dictator at the time of so-called referendum during Musharraf’s era.
