Calling Parvez Musharraf a traitor is not a good tradition, an army chief cannot be a traitor, if according to people Parvez Musharraf was a traitor then why did N-League ministers took oath from him?, asked Pakistan Muslim League (PML) senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi while talking to journalist on the death anniversary of Jamaat-e-Islami former chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad at his residence on Monday.

Ch Parvez Elahi said when their greed was involved then everything was all right, Pervez Musharraf held general elections twice and all of them had participated in these elections.

Paying rich tributes to Qazi Hussain Ahmad, the PML leader said that Qazi Hussain Ahmad was a politician of great stature, world class statesman and a farsighted man. His saying was given due importance throughout the Islamic world and he had relationship with world and Islamic leaders, he added.

Ch Parvez Elahi said there were no signs whatsoever of local bodies elections being held, people were being hoodwinked for last seven to eight month. N-League parliamentarians were getting constituencies demarcation done according to their liking as such the learned court’s verdict was right, he added

Ch Parvez Elahi said that PML was not part of the resolution which has been submitted in the Punjab Assembly against the statement of Altaf Hussain, we had supported the South Punjab province and had started work for it whereas N-League supported Bahawalpur province but it has done nothing in this regard.

Continuing, Ch Parvez Elahi said that the govt should pay all its attention to dearness of essential and other articles, electricity, gas and other public problems. Electricity tariff was again being raised in February according to the agreement with the IMF whereas Shahbaz Sharif while putting up a tent under the shadow of Minar-e-Pakistan had said that he would solve electricity problem in six months and asked whether six months have not elapsed so far adding that the govt instead of solving the problems faced by the people was trying to divert their attention to non-issues.
