Fazlur Rehman, chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), on Friday said the government does not seem to be serious in handing peace dialogues task to the JUI-Sami chief Samiul Haq.
Talking to a private TV channel, Fazl said that a section of media was unnecessarily rousing the issue that Sami has been tasked for peace talks with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and he was in contact with some of the groups.
Fazl said that he held talks with the interior minister, but the initiation of talks with the TTP did nOt come under discussion.
The JUI-F chief said that he was not aware of Pervez Musharraf’s illness nor he wanted to know about it.
“This was an issue between the government and the court, and we would not like to indulge in it,” he added.
