Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani on Thursday took notice of garbage dumping in federal capital and directed Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman to submit a report in this regard.

The CJP took notice of the situation on a recently published newspaper report on Margalla Hills, explaining how the city administration was not doing its job well for hills’ preservation and cleanliness.

It had been reported that CDA was involved in ‘illegal activities’ in the ‘preserved forest area’ of MargallaHillsNational Park.

Taking the cognizance, the CJP ordered the CDA chairman to meet Environment Protection Agency director general and submit a detailed report explaining the authority’s case.

The CJP also directed the chairman to manage a proper long-term composite solid waste management plan with an emphasis on recycling. He also directed the chairman to take steps to reverse the damage caused to subject site and to submit such report within two weeks.
