Unknown miscreants kidnapped a doctor of the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) on Thursday.
Police said dome unidentified gunmen intercepted Dr Farooq Zia in Yakkatoot area of Peshawar while he was on his way to home from the hospital and kidnapped him. The kidnapped doctor was deployed in the children ward of the hospital.
Heavy contingent of police and other law enforcement agencies personnel (LEAs) cordoned off the area after the incident and started search operation for the accused but they managed to escape along with the kidnapped doctor.
Police said it could not be confirmed whether the abduction was outcome of personal enmity or kidnapping for ransom as no one has yet contacted the family of the kidnapped doctor.
