WWF for provision of quality education to workers’ children

A senior official of Worker Welfare Fund (WWF) Thursday said that WWF was committed to providing quality education to children of the industrial workers.

WWF Director Education Affairs Masood Ahmed said that on the direction of the Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Pir Syed Sadaruddin Shah Rashidi, WWF will utilise all available resources to complete the on-going projects in education and development sector.

“Government is committed to taking steps for WWF educational institutions including industrial workers’ education in technical and vocational sectors,” he added.

Masood further said that well educated, technical and skilled manpower play a vital role in generating foreign reserves and government was mulling over the construction of modern and up-to-date vocational training institutes in the country with the help of public-private partnership.

He further said that WWF would also initiate other welfare projects including education, health etc at other labour sites in Sindh as the province is generating largest funds along with other provinces.

Meanwhile the federal minister on December 30 had chaired a meeting of senior officers and directed WWF and Workers Welfare Board (WWB) for early completion of on-going projects and emphasised upon the maintain of transparency in execution of projects.
