Police on Monday recovered four packets of explosive material near the farmhouse of former military ruler General (r) Pervez Musharraf.

The explosives were found attached to an electricity pole on a green belt on Park Road. Each packet contained one kilogramme of explosive material.

Police personnel recovered the packets and immediately summoned the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS).

BDS personnel defused the explosives and shifted them to Bani Gala Police Station. They said that a probe into the homemade explosives was underway.

Earlier on Dec 24, police had discovered five kilogrammes of explosive material, weapons and ammunition close to the route that Musharraf was due to take from his house to the court.

Meanwhile, earlier this year in April, 45 kilogrammes of explosives had been discovered in a car abandoned near Musharraf’s farmhouse when he was being taken back there after his appearance in an anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi.

  1. What a joke this is, loot and fool and then play games with public funds and resources. History is a great teacher and time is surly not on the side of these crooks.

  2. What are those 1200 Rangers doing who have been deployed at the taxpayers expense to protect an under-trial accused of high treason??
And why is he being put in a property illegally allotted on his wife's name during the heydays of his Dictatorship?
The land in Chak Shahzad was earmarked for farming & ensuring the food supplies to the residents of Islamabad. This land could only be used for agro-farming, cattle-farming, fish-farming or poultry-farming so that the produce could be brought in the market. But various influentials, including Musharraf, got the land transferred into their names and constructed huge palaces. The Court should cancel this illegal allotment.
