Unidentified miscreants attacked a vehicle of Majlis Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen’s (MWM) leader in the metropolis area of Gulistan-e-Jauhar on Saturday night and killed two of his guards and injured another man.
Allama Mirza Yousuf was not in the vehicle at the time of attack. According to details, Mirza Yousuf came to Gulistan-e-Jauhar to see Maulana Qambar Abbas Naqvi. As he was climbing up the stairs, saboteurs riding a motorbike opened gunfire at his vehicle.
A police constable, Iqbal Hussain, deployed on special duty of Allama’s security and a private guard, Mazhar, were killed in the surprise ambush.
In other firing incidents, at least four people were killed in different areas of the city during the last 24 hours. A policeman was wounded in a firing incident in Samanabad. Some unknown attackers killed ASI Abdul Jabbar in a firing incident near Akbar Road. A firing incident occurred in Pirabad where terrorists sprayed bullets at a car killing Sumair on the spot. Meantime, a woman lost her life in firing incident in Bhittaiabad near airport. Also, a tortured body was recovered from Manghopir.
