A petition challenging the Punjab local bodies elections has been filed in Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday, a private news channel reported.
The petitioner Advocate Azhar Siddique has plead to the court that the elections should be postponed until the decision on the delimitation issue as otherwise the elections will be held unconstitutionally and against the basic human rights.
The petition further appeals to the court to declare section -A of the Punjab Local Government Act 2013 null and void.
The PTI Government is still dragging its feet after *lapse of 214days* despite the fact that its Lifetime Chairman Imran Khan had promised to hold Local Bodies elections within 90days of his government.
The government of Balochistan has successfully conducted the elections and the governments of Punjab & Sindh have already announced the schedule for January2014.
