Police claimed to have arrested two commanders of the banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) during a search operation in Nowshera on Wednesday.
Akbarpura police officials said that unidentified gunmen attacked police patrol at Fazal Korona area. “The attack led to a search operation in the area and arrest of two militants.”
After initial interrogation, the two were identified as Saleem Afridi and Tariq, affiliated with Darra Adamkhel TTP, said a police official. Three grenades and two pistols were seized from them, the official added.
The accused have confessed to their involvement in destroying public property and target killings. They have been shifted to an unidentified place for further interrogation, the police said.
