Eight kilogram bomb defused in Quetta

A mortar bomb weighing eight kilograms was defused on Wednesday by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) in Quetta, according to a private news channel.

Police sources said area residents discovered a mortar bomb connected to a detonator in a trash can at Saeed Ahmed Khan Road .The security personnel were informed of the explosives, after which the BDS was called in to disarm the bomb.

Traffic around the area was suspended during the process of defusing the bomb. BDS sources stated a possibility of high damage had the bomb been not discovered and disarmed on time.
