Anti polio campaign in North and South Waziristan Agencies and Federal Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) could not be carried out during last two years due to security concerns, increasing fear of spread of polio virus to the children.
FATA Secretariat on Tuesday said as many as 169,000 children in SWA and 166,000 in NWA have been deprived from administrating polio drops.
Also, at least 39,000 children have been deprived of polio drops in Khyber Agency.
The secretariat also said that many children have been confirmed polio virus so far and it is feared that the virus will spread in the future if the anti-polio drive is not started in the areas.
