Nisar orders tight security for chehlum

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Sunday directed the Islamabad administration and police to ensure foolproof security for the chehlum of Imam Hussain Alaihi Salam (AS).
Chairing a meeting, the minister said that intelligence agencies and civil armed forces were providing full support to the provinces. He directed aerial surveillance of sensitive areas for ensuring peace on the occasion.
He said wherever required, the armed forces should be kept on alert. He said that any act of violence would be dealt with an iron hand.
The meeting also reviewed the working of various departments working under the ministry, including the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration, police, FIA and immigration and passports.
The minister directed the director generals of FIA and passports as well as the Islamabad chief commissioner and IG to give a sense of security to the people.
The minister said that it is the duty of law enforcers to provide security to the people. He directed the IG to ensure increased vigilance in all parts of the capital and said that a Rapid Response Force would be formed for Islamabad and Rawalpindi, which would also have the support of Rangers.
