Govt urged to suspend mobile service on chehlum of Imam Hussain (AS)

The Police Department on Wednesday requested the Punjab government to suspend cellular phone service on the chehlum of Imam Hussain (AS) to ensure law and order.
According to sources, the police had requested for suspension of mobile phone service from 6am until the culmination of the processions in 24 cities of Punjab.
The final decision would be taken by the Punjab government, the sources added.
Meanwhile, at least 20 districts of Punjab have been declared sensitive. Lahore, DG Khan and Jhang are among the sensitive areas.
Strict security measures will be taken to avoid any untoward incident on the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain. The chehlum will be observed on December 24.
