Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon on Saturday said that the government will take all possible steps to restore its writ in the provincial capital.
He asserted that the targeted operation could not be stopped over the concerns of any political party.
Talking to media persons, Sharjeel Memon clarified that action against law violators in Karachi was aimed at ending target killings, extortion, kidnapping for ransom, looting banks, extremism and other crimes.
He said that the menace of terrorism in Karachi emerged during the dictatorial regime of General Ziaul Haq which deepened it roots with the passage of time.
Sharjeel Memon stressed upon the need of clearing city from terrorists and criminals to make it the ‘city of lights’ again.
The information minister claimed that targeted operations have shown positive results as hundreds of target killers and extortionists were arrested while others had to flee from the city.
