An accountability-court on Thursday awarded seven years sentence and Rs 70 million fine to former director general of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Imran Ahmed Zubair in a corruption reference.
The court issued its verdict in PTA corruption reference during which ex-DG PTA was found guilty of causing loss of Rs 80.17 million to the national exchequer. Bank Manager Muhammad Riaz was acquitted in the case.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had filed the corruption reference in 2010.
