GUJRANWALA – An addicted youth killed his 55-year-old father in the area if Samanabad for preventing him from using drugs. Deceased Muhammad Ilyas, a cobbler by profession, got his son Ghulam Muhammad admitted in a rehabilitation centre. Ghulam Muhammad managed to escape the rehabilitation centre and axed his father to death.
YOUTH STABBED TO DEATH: A youth was stabbed to death by some unknown assailants at village Jalal Balugan on Thursday. Reportedly, 18-year-old Attique Rehman was going to the fields when unidentified people overpowered him, and killed him with the repeated attacks of a knife. No motive behind the murder could be ascertained.
DOCTORS’ ABSENCE ENRAGES HEALTH DG: Punjab Health Director General (DG) Aslam Chaudhry paid a surprise visit to Gujranwala Divisional Headquarters Hospital and expressed his anger over the absence of doctors and staff in the hospital. Reportedly, the health DG reached the hospital at 8am and found most of the doctors and staff absent.
He directed Medical Superintendent (MS) Captain Dr Zafar to maintain discipline in the hospital and demanded a list of each and every medicine available in the trauma centre so that poor patients could be facilitated without discrimination.
ONE KILLED, 12 INJURED IN ROAD ACCIDENT: A collision between a van and a car on GT Road resulted in the instant death of the car-rider while 12 passengers sustained injuries. Reportedly, a Lahore-bound speedy car near Qila Chan Bypass got out of control and hit a passenger van. As a result, the car driver, Abid, was killed instantly while 12 passengers were injured.
