Attorney General (AG) Munir A Malik has said that there is solid evidence for the prosecution of Pervez Musharraf under article 6 of the constitution.

He held that FIA will obtain the powers to arrest Pervez Musharraf as soon as government registers a complaint for trial of former president under article 6.

It may be mentioned that the government has constituted a 3-member special court to hear the high treason case against Pervez Musharraf. Justice Faisal Arab of Sindh High Court will head the court with Justice Yawar Ali and Justice Syeda Tahira Safdar of Lahore High Court and Balochistan High Court as its members.

SC had sent 5 names of judges along with their profiles to the government for initiation of proceedings against Pervez Musharraf under article 6 of the constitution. These names included Justice Noor ul Haq Qureshi of Islamabad High Court, Justice Syeda Tahira Safdar of Balochistan High Court, Justice Yahya Afridi of Peshawar High Court, Justice Muhammad Yawar Ali of Lahore High Court and Justice Faisal Arab of Sindh High Court.

SC had asked the government to choose any three of these judges to initiate the trial of Pervez Musharraf besides appointing the senior most judge among them as head of the special court.

    • Agree. Personal spite, envy, vengeance are the root and people will sell their souls for money, unless they strongly believe in Allah Almighty and are certain that too will have to face the Maalik on Youm ud Deen the Day of Judgment.

  1. What about the solid evidence against Nawaz sharif for attempted murder of over 250 people on a plane when he order to not let the plane land anywhere in Pakistan while the fuel was running out? And how about the solid evidence against zardari for conspiring against the army? Most importantly, how about rock solid evidence against the CJ for "aiding and abetting" Musharraf when he overthrew the govt in 1999? There cannot be any more clear evidence against the CJ when he ruled that Musharraf's take over in 1999 was justified. The biggest mistake Musharraf made was that he let these scum bags live. He should have had them killed. Let this be a lesson for the next General who takes over.

    • All those judges of the past including present CJ has been given indemnity vide 17th amendment against their past approval of takeovers by past dictators…thanks to last PPP govt & PML N , although the 12 Oct 1999 takeover of democratically govt by Gen M and imposition of emergency etc; was more grave than 3 Nov 2007….this is Pakistan…..jiski lathi uski bhains….

    • It seems that you are still living under the Dictatorship of Musharraf.
The Supreme Court has already declared that the so called hijacking was a pre-planned drama many years ago http://news.oneindia.in/2009/06/17/musharrafplane
You should read the book "Hijacking from the Air" by Aminullah Chaudhry who was DG Civil Aviation at that time.

  2. AG Malik has no business to talk on this case as the matter is in court and is subjudiced…the judiciary must not allow people to discuss / comment on such high profile case as such discussions / comments may influence judges / commission decision.

  3. LET US SEE FOR THE BEST RESULT OF JUDGMENT AND ACTIONS AND ORDERS OF LAST 3 ARMY DICTATORS MUST BE CONDEMNED AND DECLARED NULL AND VOID AND EFFECTES MUST BE COMPENSATED WITH HONOR.

  4. Is it the person under trial or the system? It was the "doctrine of necessity which legitmised Muaharraf power and now it has become necessary to try him for treason and force him to the gallows if found guilty. How about trying the system?
