Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani on Thursday gave away prizes to cadets for distinguished performance in academics, sports and co-curricular activities at Military College Murree (MCM).

While addressing as chief guest on Annual Parents’ Day ceremony, he appreciated the college to have made its mark among leading educational institutions of the country within a short period of five years by consistently producing excellent academic results.

Besides providing quality education and personality grooming, the college alongside other two military colleges in Jhelum and Sui is one of the feeder institutions for Pakistan Army. He advised the cadets to make best use of the facilities and environment made available to them and spare no effort to become most valued part of the society. He noted it with great satisfaction that with a near 60% induction rate in the armed forces, MCM was well up to its mission, said an ISPR press release.

Welcome address was delivered by the college prefect followed by the College Annual Report by the commandant.

The ceremony also included inauguration of college auditorium by the chief guest.

Earlier, on his arrival, Chief of the Army Staff was received in the college by Lieutenant General Raheel Sharif, Inspector General Training and Evaluation and MCM Commandant Brigadier Abdul Hayee.
