Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman Sikandar Ismael said on Sunday that the renovation of all gurdwaras in the province will be completed before the celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak Sahib’s birth anniversary begins.

Speaking on this occasion, the ETPB chairman said he had constituted a special team led by Additional Secretary Shrine Khalid Ali and Deputy Shrine Faraz Abbad for cleanliness and renovation of gurudwaras.

About 3,000 Sikh pilgrims from India, 2,000 from other countries and 15,000 from Pakistan would also participate in the celebrations and to protect them from dengue virus fumigation would be carried out at all gurudwaras and residences of Sikh pilgrims, the chairman added.

He said the team members were visiting gurudwaras in Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Punja Sahib and others and for the security of visitors, ETPB had provided metal detectors to all gurudwaras besides installing walk-through-gates to check every visitor.
