Parliamentary body approves appointment of seven LHC additional judges

The Parliamentary Committee for Judges Appointment (PCJA) on Friday approved the appointment of seven additional judges in the Lahore High Court (LHC).
The meeting of PCJA was chaired by Arshad Laghari, held in Parliament House.
The seven judges include Justice Tariq Abbasi, Justice Arshad Tabassum, Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan, Justice Shahid Nadeem, Justice Chaudhry Masood Jahangir, Justice Sohail Iqbal Bhatti and Justice Mohammad Ahmed.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, committee member Farooq H. Naek said that if the committee has no utility than it should be abolished. He said that 14 days are far too less a period to review the judicial committee recommendations.
