SIALKOT – Hundreds of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers raged against the attitude of PML-N central leader and MNA Kahwaja Muhammad Asif towards the party workers, saying he had divided the PML-N in Sialkot into several groups for his personal political gains. During a convention of PML-N workers held at Union Council Shahabpura in which more than 600 party workers participated, the workers alleged MNA Khawaja Muhammad Asif was getting fictitious cases registered against the workers of his own party.
The workers were of the view that PML-N was suffering a great political loss in Sialkot as it had been divided into several groups allegedly by Khawaja Muhammad Asif who is the party head in the district. Former provincial minister Ejaz Ahmad presided over this convention. Speaking on this occasion, he supported the party workers and said they were being politically victimised by Khawaja Asif MNA for his personal political gains.
He urged PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take serious notice of this situation and also take some effective and positive steps for reuniting the PML-N. According to the ground realities, there are four groups of PML-N in Sialkot district. Former provincial minister Sheikh Ejaz Ahmad is heading his own group of PML-N in Sialkot while MNA Khawaja Asif, MPA Rana Shamim Ahmad and MPA Engineer Imran Ashraf have their own groups within the party. On the other hand, MNA Khawaja Asif said Sialkot still remained a stronghold of PML-N.
