RPO seeks citizens’ help to maintain law and order

SAHIWAL – Regional Police Officer Dr Arif Mushtaq Chaudhry has asked the citizens to cooperate with, and assist, police to maintain law and order effectively. He said this while talking to a delegation of Citizens-Police Liaison Committee in his office. Chairman Sh Azmat Saleem, Convener Syed Alamdar Hussain Shah, Abraham Azeem Daniel, District Bar President Malik Muhammad Hussain, Rotary International former assistant governor Chaudhry Abdul Quyyom and Mian Saghir Anjum were also present during the meeting.
The RPO said Musalihat Committees would be formed at police station level to decide petty disputes quickly and avoid unnecessary police involvement. Convener Syed Alamdar Hussain Shah said that Sahiwal Civil Lines Police Station should be made a model station and CPLC would provide all necessary help in this regard.
COMMISSIONER FOR EARLY ANTI-ENCROACHMENT DRIVE: Sahiwal Division Commissioner Qazi Muhammad Ashfaq Qureshi has directed all the three districts’ administrations to start an anti-encroachment drive on priority basis. He said during this campaign no one would be made unemployed and the operation would only be launched against big encroachers.
All stakeholders, especially traders, should also be taken into confidence, he said, adding that the provincial government was spending billions of rupees to provide basic necessities of life to the citizens. He further said traders should be persuaded to remove all illegal constructions voluntarily.
