Chinese company hands over Allai Khwar power project to WAPDA

Chinese Dongfang Electric Corporation has formally handed over the operations of one-hundred and twenty-one megawatts Allai Khwar hydropower project to Water and Power Development Authority. The power project situated in Batagram district on the tributary of Sindh River‚ has been completed in seven and a half years at a cost of 13.8 billion rupees. The Chinese company had earlier successfully completed 1‚450 megawatts Ghazi Barotha power house‚ 96 megawatt Jinnah hydropower project in Kalabagh and 72 megawatts Khan Khwar hydropower project in Shangla.

    Chinese Company only handed over the Civil structures to WAPDA.

    The Operation of the Project was handed over to WAPDA by M/s Andritz Hydro GmbH in March 2013, after successful installation and testing of the two Generating units (60.5 MW each). The plant is in Operation since March 2013.
