Following in the footsteps of his seniors, another Pakistan People’s Party Senator, Dr Saeeda Iqbal, on Thursday failed to recite verses from the holy Quran.
Senate’s Standing Committee for CAD Chairwoman Senator Kulsoom Perveen asked Dr Saeeda Iqbal to recite some verses from the holy Quran to formally start the meeting. The senator started reciting Surah Fateha, but fumbled in the middle and left the recitation incomplete.
Responding to this, the chairwoman said Dr Saeeda was a PhD scholar, but perhaps she was having trouble in recitation.
Earlier, other PPP senators, Rehman Malik, Aitzaz Ahsan and Karim Ahmed had also failed to recite verses from the holy Quran correctly on various occasions.
