Ex-EOBI head, others indicted for corruption

An anti-corruption court has indicted former EOBI chairman Zafar Gondal, Col (r) Asad Ali, his wife Nighat, daughter Maham, former Sindh caretaker minister Iqbal Dawood Pakwala in a corruption case.
The accused have pleaded not guilty. They are charged with buying land at inflated rates to the tune of more than Rs 2 billion from Nighat Asad and Maham Mirza in Deh Mehran in Malir against survey No 536 and 537.
The real value of this land is Rs 20 million. The chairman and EOBI DG had been bribed in this regard. Further proceedings in the case will take place on the next hearing.
