Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has demanded more time to submit the details of his asset in with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

According to a statement issued by the PM’s House on Monday, the prime minister could not submit his assets’ details as he was on foreign visits and would submit the details within the next two days after he returned home.

Earlier, the ECP ordered all elected parliamentarians, who had won the May 11 general elections, to disclose the details of their assets to the ECP before September 30 under the constitutional and legal requirements.

The ECP had also sent letters to parliamentarians as a reminder to submit the details before the end of the deadline, warning them that otherwise their assembly membership could be suspended.

Following the orders of ECP, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif submitted his asset details on Friday which were not disclosed to the media.

The deadline of submitting asset details has expired but around 700 parliamentarians have yet to submit the details of their assets.

  1. Will the PM declare his Daniel watch worth BP100,000 and the source of this income in his declaration, or will he follow AZ and claim it to be a Gift.

  2. The reason being given does not hold ground . Nawaz Sharif is behaving like a bad child who does not do his homework and then wants to escape punishment. You dont expect such silly antics from the Prime Minister of a country. This stopover in London may be to do some calculation to that effect. But I feel ashamed as a Pakistani and I am sure there are many more like me.

  3. He does need to. 'Coz he is a poor chap, with no assets??
Relies on his 2 sons for day-2-day needs !!!!
