A vital development has been made in the investigation regarding the rape case of minor girl, Sumbul, after a policeman was apprehended on the suspicion of criminal act.
Police sources said Constable Abid Hussain had been arrested on suspicion of rape of the minor girl. The accused is a resident of Baghbanpura.
According to the sources, Abid Hussain coaxed the minor girl away on the pretext of offering her ice-cream. The accused policeman has confessed to having committed the grave offence of abuse the minor girl.
The CIA police took in custody the accused and shifted him to an undisclosed location for further interrogations.
It should be mentioned here that the five-year girl Sumbul was dumped in critical state at the gate of SirGangaRamHospital on September 13.
