Pakistan has tremendous tourism potential with diversified culture, rich in folk customs and traditions, archeological sites, variety of landscape, and preserved sites of centuries old civilisation. This was said by Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Nadeem Hassan Asif while chairing a meeting on Thursday to finalise the arrangements of “World Tourism Day” to be celeberated today to project soft image of the country and attract tourists. CDA chairman said that by promoting tourism in the country, we can earn a lot of money beside projecting softer image of the country. He said that Pakistan had number of attractive places for the tourists, adding these were not projected properly. He said that we should highlight the importance of two way flow of tourists i.e. from other countries to Pakistan and from Pakistan to the rest of the world. He said Islamabad offers too many archeological, historical and cultural sites to the tourists. The meeting was informed that CDA had arranged number of activities to celebrate the “World Tourism Day” including documentary shows on cultural, tourism and archeological sites of Pakistan and Asia, photographic exhibitions, tourism stalls of Turkish, Polish, Egyptians and lectures by the world renowned speakers on revival of tourism in Pakistan.
