NIH issues congo alert

The National Institute of Health (NIH) issued a alert for the congo virus after the disease killed four members of an Abbottabad family last week.

The NIH has warned that transportation of millions of sacrificial animals ahead of Eid ul Adha could spread the virus in other parts of country.

According to the NIH, so far 11 people have died from the fever in the country. Five people have succumbed to the disease in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while six fatalities have been recorded in Balochistan.

It said that 137 people have been suffering from congo in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
