Dengue virus claims another 3 lives in Swat

The dengue infection Tuesday claimed three more lives in the district after which the death toll reached 24 while 6,000 persons had been found dengue positive in Mingora and adjacent areas.
Spokesman of Saidu Sharif Hospital (STH) Dr Wasel Khan said that as many as 246 patients were under-treatment, adding that 30-year-old Khadim Khan and a 12-year old child died after they were admitted in hospital in very critical condition.
He said 56-year-old Sher Bacha of Mingora also died due to the disease.
Dr Khan said that as many as 127 patients were found dengue positive in the 24 hours and they were being admitted and treated.
He said 84 patients were discharged from the hospital during last 24 hours after their complete recovery.
The spokesman said that as many as 3,181 patients were admitted to Saidu Sharif Hospital from August 14 to September 24; of them 2,782 patients were discharged after treatment and recovery.
