Local court has sent the widow, who attempted to commit suicide along with her 4 children by jumping in the canal, on judicial remand.
Police said, widow Rani Bibi, resident of Rukan Pura, police station Saddar Patoki left home along with her 4 children, Haider (3), Sadia (8), Uzma (10) and Asad (12) and jumped in the canal due to poverty in the area of Changa Manga.
2 of her children saved their lives by running away from her while the other 2 drowned.
The dead body of one child has been found while search for the other is still going on. Rani Bibi was saved and is alive.
Police registered a FIR against Rani Bibi on the plea of her brother-in-law and have sent her to jail.
