Violence prevails in Karachi: 3 injured, 45 arrested

At least three more persons were killed and several others were injured in separate incidents of violence in different localities of Karachi on Tuesday. Meanwhile, security personnel arrested a total of 45 culprits during target operations held throughout the city.

According to police, armed robbers gunned down a citizen identified as Muhammad Anwar when the latter resisted them during a robbery attempt in the Momanabad area of Orangi Town Sector 10. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital for medical and legal formalities.

Another individual was killed when unknown miscreants opened fire at him at in Landhi and fled the scene.

In Khawaja Ajmeer Nagri, armed motorcyclists opened fire at a car, killing one person on the spot and injuring two others. The deceased and injured were residents of Paposh Nagar.

Firing incidents continued in the various areas Karachi during which more than 10 persons sustained injuries.

Police and Rangers launched targeted search operations in different areas of the city including Malir, Lyari, Sachal, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulshan-e-Johar and other areas of Karachi, rounding up 45 accused involved in target killing, extortion and other crimes, besides recovery of arms and drugs from their possession. The detainees belong to political parties, religious organizations and Lyari gangs.
