Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)’s Syed Rasim Ali Shah Gilani filed a writ petition in the Lahore High Court (LHC) with request to issue directions to Garden Town Police to register case against persons reportedly demanding extortion money from him.
The petitioner moved the petition through Moazzam Iqbal Butt.
He alleged that Dr Mubashar Hassan and some other leaders of PPP (Shaheed Bhutto Group) were demanding extortion money from party workers by using the name of ‘Bhuttoism’. “Life threats are being hurled to those who have denied giving the extortion money,” the petitioner stated.
He said that he had approached Garden Town Police along with complete proofs to register a case against the accused persons but the police refused to take any action.
He requested the court to issue directions to the police to register a case against the accused persons.
