Businessmen from as many as ten industrial areas and leading industrial groups and sector-specific associations in and around Lahore are likely to poll their votes in favour of PIAF-Founders Alliance in the LCCI Corporate Class elections scheduled for September 24.
In a joint statement issued by PIAF-Founders Alliance leaders, they said businessmen from Lahore Township Industrial Area, Ferozepur Road Industrial Area, Sundar Industrial Area, Gulberg Industrial Area, Katarbund Industrial Area, Raiwind Industrial Area, Kahna Katcha Industrial Area, Sheikhupura Industrial Area, Kasur Tanneries, Ittefaq Group of Industries, ATS group, Chaudhry Group, Packages and Alliand, Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association, Steel Re-Rolling Mills Association, Textile Processing and Printing Mills Association, Plastic Manufacturers Association, Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers and Exporters Association and Food Processing Association had already assured their full support to the alliance for the sake of continuity in economic policies.
The PIAF Founders Alliance leaders expressed the optimism that a big majority would stamp the alliance candidates to victory as the PIAF and founders had a history of working for the cause of business community.
They said the Lahore High Court verdict in favor of PIAF Founders Alliance was enough to make the point that the Alliance was a true representative of the business community and would remain steadfast for the progress and prosperity of the country.
The alliance leaders said it was very unfortunate that the other groups started their respective electioneering from mudslinging on the premier Chamber of the country instead of sharing their economic vision with the business community. They said the Alliance on the other hand gave its working plan for the upcoming year and won the hearts of the voters.
Mian Anjum Nisar and Mian Muhammad Ashraf said they had already decided that during the upcoming year, the Ministry of Commerce would be asked to take on board all the stakeholders well ahead of implementing any economy related policy. They said it was also decided in various Alliance Steering Committee meetings that exports would be given priority in 2014 and all necessary arrangement would be made at LCCI for the education of new exporters.
Mian Misbahur Rehman and Mian Shafqat Ali said they had already gathered enough proposals during electioneering for Corporate Class that would be forwarded to the government after finalising them.
They said sector-specific training and language courses on concessional rates would also be restarted for the LCCI members to enable them to interact with their foreign counterparts with full confidence.
They said plans had also been finalised to send business delegations to untapped markets of the world so that Pakistani merchandise could be introduced to all parts of the globe.
In the end, the Alliance leadership appealed to all LCCI voters to exercise their right for the cause of the business community and for the sake of the economy of the country.
