The police arrested a man bearing resemblance to the prime suspect in the Lahore child-rape case.
According to doctors, the victim’s condition was improving and she was now able to record her statement. The hospital administration has allowed the police to meet the victim. Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) submitted a resolution in the Punjab Assembly over the increasing number of incidents of sexual assault, demanding immediate legislation to award death penalties to rapists. The police are interrogating the suspects including a hospital guard, doctors and the suspect bearing resemblance to a man who left the child at the hospital. The sketch of the accused was prepared with the help of CCTV footage.
